Capture the Lunar Eclipse using your camera and a wide-angle lens mounted on a tripod. Take your first picture around 1:45 am with the Moon near the left side of the frame and try to include some ground all along the bottom of the picture. Don't move the camera for the rest of the night. Take picures at a constant interval 4 to 8 minutes apart using Manual mode if available (iso=200, f/8, exp times ~1/60 sec, to ~1 sec when fully eclipsed). The individual images are later combined into a single image using software. (We can show you how to do this in our Astrophotography classes.)

A Good Example of what can be achieved is available at www.astronet.ru/db/xware/msg/apod/2007-09-01.
